UP SAMASKOM Donates Live AIDS Proceeds to College
November 22, 2006
UP Samahan ng mga Mag-aaral sa Komunikasyon (SAMASKOM), the force behind the famed Live A.I.D.S. will stage this year’s show for the benefit of the UP College of Mass Communication.
Live A.I.D.S., an annual comedy variety show, began as a simple fund raising project in the ‘80s and is now bloomed to a much-awaited event within and outside the UP campus. With a solid following among academic and professional communities, Live A.I.D.S. is famous not only for its standing-room-only performances but also for the big names it has produced in both the entertainment and corporate world.
Now on its 23rd year of unparalleled comedy, the show is showcasing its crème of the crop for a special mission—to raise money to help the UP CMC Foundation’s infrastructure and research development programs. This year’s show, entitled the LIVE A.I.D.S. MONOLOGUES, will surely be a hit with SAMASKOMers Wency Cornejo in charge of music, prima ballerina Melanie Motus to work on the choreography, a talented bunch of comedians to join Giselle Sanchez and Tuesday Vargas in the “laugh department,” and hotshot ABS-CBN Global executive Ned Legaspi as the director.
Sit back, relax, have fun on February 2, 3, and 4 at the Abelardo Auditorium in UP Diliman for THE LIVE A.I.D.S. MONOLOGUES and join the SAMASKOMers in their noble cause, which ironically, is anything but a laughing matter.
